This is why understanding history is so important.

Ok
So it existed as Israel but not independent.
Egypt referred to
quote:

1209 BCE, which states "Israel is laid waste and his seed is not."

quote:

In Jesus' time, ancient Palestine was a part of the Canaan region, which encompassed the kingdoms of Israel and Judah.

So not independent?

Judeah was the land of the Jews? In current Israel?

quote:

The earliest known archaeological artefact to mention the word "Israel" as a collective is the Merneptah Stele of ancient Egypt (dated to the late 13th century BCE).[38]

Trying to understand history.

Islamists conveniently stop looking further back than WW1 and 2 when it comes to whose land it is. The fact is Jerusalem has been taken and lost by Jews, Arabs, Christians, Romans, Europe, etc. for 4,000 years. It’s no more their “holy land” than anyone else’s.

People get hung up on the religious side of this. IMO this is just the same tool that has been used since the beginning of time for rulers, despots and people of power to twist the ignorant and poor into helping them garner money and power. They’ve just done it for so long now that they don’t know anything else. You’ll never see any of the top leaders or bag men for Hamas or the PLO running to the front line with an AK in their hands.

As Vox said, it’s not compatible with modern civilization.

For a bit of clarification that reference to "Israel" in the quote is a reference to a group of people not necessarily a state of Israel.
