Aman does a good job of offering personalized service that carries over from property to property. Their rooms are very large, and they always hold seats at the restaurants for guests, so you can just walk in when you want to, which is nice. There’s no check in time, and there isn’t necessarily a departure time either.

I assume the price in New York is partly marketing, they want to be the most expensive, partly the massive staffing, and partly due to the limited number of rooms they have.

I would stay at the Four Seasons though. The price at Aman doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not a resort and you’re not going to be there for a week.

The Mandarin would be great.
