re: Insomnia. What can I do about this? Will I die?

Yeah, I have bouts of some gnarly insomnia (4-6 hours over 3-4 days every few months). The good news is, its not going to kill you. At least not very quickly.
Rx sleep aids might be something worthwhile to have around. I dont take them nightly or anything but when it gets bad, itll break the cycle. Typically if I can get a good night of sleep, I'll get out of the 1-3 hour a night cycle.
My psych doctor put me on sonata. Its basically really short acting ambien. Downside is, youll wake up sometimes when it wares off in the night but if its early enough, just take another.
It aint all xanax and ambien. Talk to your doctor if this is really a chronic issue.
But theres other obvious advice to follow too. Eat good. Cut screentime and caffeine. Work out. Try to get in bed the same time everyday.
I know it sucks, the lack of sleep, but you also aint alone in that struggle.
