Timing of the announcements can be tricky. There are pros and cons for various times. The bowl game and current coaches' relationships with recruits must be considered. Should the replacement be named concurrently with the announcement regarding the status of current coaches? We each have opinions as to when it should be done, but we don't have the facts to know what is best. I know people hate this, but you have to trust Miles to do his thing. It's his responsibility and he will pay the price if he screws it up.

If time goes on and proves Les was doing nothing, I will be very disappointed that no word came out. On the other hand, if he is working on a first rate DC who happens to be with a team that is going bowling and doesn't want the move to LSU "outed" then I will not be disappointed at all; I will celebrate. But if he keeps things just about like they are, I will be pretty much disgusted. And that includes naming either one of the Malveto entities as full DC alone. I'm against that.

True, but

not really, he could not make a change this year, the defense stink it up again next year and then make a change, and he would still keep his job.. Miles is not going anywhere, unless he wants to, for at least 2-3 years of bad football.. it would take a total collapse for him to have to "pay the price"...
