What would the Secret Service agent even have been firing at if he accidentally shot Kennedy? Are you saying he had his scope on JFK and his finger on the trigger with safety off and accidentally pulled the trigger? There wouldn't seem to be any potential target he would have been firing at to accidentally hit JFK.

I think the theory is that it was an agent in the car who fell after the first shot and his gun accidentally went off in the process of falling.
