I’ve seen one near the pearl river on the north shore, or something that looking very similar.

They're jaguars. Whole area (Gulf Coast) used to be within their natural range.

I've had a game cam out every day and night for the last 20 years in the pearl river basin on the northshore. That's 7305 days including leap years. I have never had a pic of the animal referred to as the "black panther", which is nothing more than a melanistic jaguar or leopard.
