There are so many rewards/benefits with AMEX platinum that would still make it worth it if you were limited in lounge visits.
Given the increase in people in the lounges, the $75K spending threshold for unlimited usage is a good move.

For me, I'm not sure the benefits will still be worth it without lounge access. I've keep the platinum for a few years, with these changes in 2024 I will probably just rotate this card out on a 2-3 year rotation with other cards that have similar benefits, but cheaper fees. I know I need to be careful with chase 5/24 rule, but lots guidance online how to do that.

Don’t you still get the ability to buy SC access with Amex plat? You’re just limited to 6 without card spend.

It’s trash for heavy travelers but if you fly less than 3-5x a year, it’s not a big deal especially if you triage centurion access around in there to stretch it out.

What sucks hard is the delta co-branded Amex plat card no longer even having access to buy. That is a huge devaluation on that card with how they’ve gimped the companion certificate. I’m struggling to see the value in the co-branded cards
