At one time hospitals sent itemized bills,now you only get one if you ask for it.
Everyone I ever saw for family members and friends was padded with all kinds of bullshite,like charged for 10 sleeping pills and only had 1 night in hospital.As many times as I saw it,it had to be on purpose.
I imagine that still goes on.

i posted in this thread on P1 that i asked for an itemized bill and wasn't given one.
because they didn't file paperwork and then made up numbers after the fact.

I just haggle with them and they knock a lot off. Once I get a price I am ok paying I pay it in full. I don't think I have ever just blankly received a bill and paid it.
