If you run 11 personnel, with 1 back and 1 TE, who does Bech play ahead of in your 3 WR set. In my view, nobody. That is how I see it, you disagree fine, that is your right to do so.

In 2021, Bech played because he picked up the offense quickly and was very reliable catching the ball. Thomas had more talent, but wasn’t ready to contribute as a freshman.

If 2021 Bech had showed to start up last year with the same level of consistency, maybe he could have given Thomas a run for his money. As good as Thomas is, he was still hot and cold last year and had more than his share of drops. But that didn’t happen. Bech didn’t play particularly well when given the chance. The muffs just full-on put a nail in his career here.

Even if Bech had played better and held his own last year, I have a feeling Thomas is finally going to put it all together this season and be that guy we need next to Nabors. And I think there are a few other WRs on this year’s roster who would have passed Bech up, too. He made the right decision to move on.

Bech and Thomas do not even play the same position lol. Bech cannot win or separate on the outside. HE is pretty much relegated to playing in the slot
