The Invictus Games were established for disabled (mentally and physically) vets to compete. Missing an arm and need to swim a couple of hundred meters? This is the place for you, etc. Just due to Harry, I never would have watched this, but I knew what Invictus was about.
This is another inspiring tearjerker, about even competitors raising each other up. Don't watch if you have to see the baws later.
I didn't intend to binge it, but I did.
Yes, they were established by Prince Harry. He acted like a normal person. His wife was on screen for maybe 60 seconds, and again didn't act like what we largely know her as, a domineering, useless c*nt.
While they were filming, Russia invaded Ukraine. That did hold a dominant sway during an episode and a half, but one of the Invictus athletes was involved, so I consider it excused. On the other side of the political aisle, it does point out that Russia has been going at the eastern border since 2014 (well known by anyone that can read a real news site), but now you're asking for F-16s and artillery? You had some time to buy your own shite. Golda Maier anyone?
Overall, very emotional for me. I got dusty far too quickly in the opening to E1, and in multiple episodes thereafter. It was emotional in an inspiring way, again, watching essentially wounded warriors and their support groups trying so damn hard to help each other. Take note of what the Korean vet talks about, if you watch. That was especially hard.
