I’m always torn on these issues.

On one hand, of course I want all bad arse animals to stay in the wild and thrive with free roam like nature intended.

But, I’m also not against a few being in captivity, so long as that means we can raise awareness and allow wildlife experts to learn more about them and benefit species as a whole.

I like what seems to be the more popular approach these days where the captive animals are those that were rescued from a bad situation in the wild and aren't able to be returned because they won't survive in the wild. That's not necessarily the case with zoos, but is with smaller educational places that focus on teaching and community outreach.

Captive breeding I don't like when the goal is simply to display the animals. When it is part of broader conservation efforts I don't have a problem with it.
