Yes. Normally Argon because it’s a good insulator.

If they are a little older they could be krypton as well.

House is 11 years old. Any chance the heat did anything to the gas between the glass? Looks like only outer layer of window is shattered and interior glass is intact.

A desiccant is usually used between the panes or glass.

As to the windows, are they fixed units or ones that can be opened?
