There are 5,000 BTU units all over Home Depot's website. I didn't recommend him attempting to cool a 3,000 square foot house. Cool off one room such as the living room, not get the room down to 65 degrees.

Correct - there are indeed 5000 BTU units available at many retailer sites, Home Depot included . Are those units prices around $100 ? (as per your post)
Dont think I said that Home Depot doesn’t sell 5000 BTU window units. I did however say that you cant buy a window unit at home depot or elsewhere for $100 as you claimed.
