It’s human nature for life to have some sort of meaning, of being a part of something. When this was still largely a Christian nation, people found their purpose in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, family, and their community. They were to marry, have a family, and live virtuous lives. But our society has cast all that aside. For most people there is no more meaning to life than an endless pursuit of material gain and titillation of their base desires. This is an empty life that leads to oblivion in the end and that’s one of the main drivers of suicide today. People look at their life, see no meaning, no purpose, and it leads them to despair and eventually suicide.

I know many will scoff at this notion. But if they’re honest with themselves, they know it’s true. They just can’t admit it because it hits a little too close to home.

I will agree with this post 1,000 percent. Depression is a real thing. When I first got sick at the end of 2014, I was miserable. I was so used to getting up and going to work. I’d have never been sick like that before… after all the tests and operations the depression started setting in… I was basically bed ridden. My mind went all over the place about what my future would hold for me… I was scared a ton… my goal was to get healthy and return to work. Which I did. I was very
Proud of myself , but I realized I couldn’t do what I could before. Major depression fell over me… but I got lucky and made the choice of quitting drinking and the depression is long gone… I’m healthier than I have ever been both body wise and mind wise…. I’m thankful for every day I have now…
