Every game cannot be marquee. Records matter, timing matters. Just look at the nfl that has 10x the fans. Unless it’s prime time cowboys or KC/Buffalo who are both 5-0 the ratings are pretty static.
Alabama vs Texas is only interesting to the casual fan is both teams have something on the line. If Bama is 6-0 and Texas is 2-4 the casual fan is simply not going to watch

I understand. I’m not saying this model will work, just that’s what they’re hurdling towards.
Regarding records, we’re all kind of brainwashed that a title winner can only have 1 or 0 losses. No other sports operates like that. Better get used to having a 3-4 at minimum loss champions in this new CFB.
