I spent a wknd in Cocodrie with friends from Houston. Drove all the way over here to fish and took all the filets Caught better in a wknd than they have for years in TX.

I'm sure they had a blast catching those pencil trout over there.

They have kayaks. No need for a boat to catch a TX limit. Nobody here going to TX to fish, and if they do, it’s for one fish with size.

So which is it? No one comes or they come for the size of the trout they might catch? The trophy fishery in Baffin alone attracts hundreds if not thousands of anglers every year hoping to catch a fish of a lifetime.

You say every time the limit gets lowered? LMAO. Does it get lower than 5? It’s been there for decades, right? Maybe they could pass a law that you have to bring a trout with you and release it before you can catch one.

You sound very well versed in what is going on in Texas , the limit went from 10 to 5 for the lower coast 9 years ago, it went statewide 4 years ago. The lower part of the coast has had a 3 fish limit the last year and half due to the fish killing freeze we had a couple years back, that rule sunset on August 31st of this year and we'll all be back at 5 fish.

You don’t sound like a guy with a several hundred thousand dollar camp and an expensive boat that lives 2.5 hrs from the camp. More power to you driving your truck to the beach and being fulfilled by the sport alone.

You just keep digging You have no clue what I have invested but if it is a dick measuring contest you want I'll be happy to whip mine out. I live 2.5 hours from Rockport along the Gaudalupe River, in Rockport I have a waterfront home, between in the barn and on the lifts there is my Simmons Custom Go Fast Boat for tournament fishing, my Haynie Tower Boat for scouting, my Glacier Bay Offshore Cat, and finally my Majek RFL that we use for duck hunting and gigging. Go ahead and try put a dollar figure on all of the hours of my time I donate every year being on advisory committees for TPWD or state boards of conservation groups.

Im not hating on you and your level of investment. But not everyone is satisfied by just fishing. I like catching more than fishing, and I actually enjoy cleaning fish as much as eating them.

I never said we don't eat fish, we eat plenty, having said that we have killed two trout since the freeze in February 2021. I prefer flounder and snapper for the table.

I enjoy freshwater fishing ponds the way you enjoy saltwater. I never keep any freshwater fish. I also invest next to nothing fishing local ponds.

I apologize for getting off topic but I’m coming fishing with you lol. I love Rockport. Caught what was my pb trout at the time with Jay Watkins not 3 minutes from whatever launch we were at down there.
