Same here. You know, recently I received some clarity on what an actual “tare” is from the famous parable of the tares and the wheat Christ spoke of in how to distinguish the real deal Christian from the false Christians and it was eye opening to me. I’d never really thought about it in detail before really.

A tare looks just like a wheat except for one very distinguishing characteristic. The tare (weed) stands straight upright, while the fully mature wheat is bowed down, and that’s really the only way to tell them apart from one another as they grow together in the same field. Both appear to be wheat at first glance, but only one is, and the other is the pretender. In keeping with the parable, one refuses to bow and is upright in it’s appearance but proud in it’s standing while the other bows to God and His authority. Tares are poisonous, while wheat is obviously not, but rather feeds the world.
