I’m an Agency owner, so I am 100% commission. My sales and service employees all have a base of at least 50k plus commission and benefits. My gross income this year will be 950k, and my expense ratio is about 40%.
If you want to get into sales, it needs to be something you can be passionate about. Something that generates renewal income vs one time sales is also a huge consideration. Freedom and time away from my office is more important to me than anything else. I’ve spent the last week in Austria and Germany and I’m still making money because my team is still selling and renewals are still flowing in.
