I was in your exact situation. Late 30's, separated, didn't see my kids enough, lived in my one room camp because I couldn't afford anything else due to child support, and severe depression due to the direction my life had taken. I signed up for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, got serious in the gym, and prayed a lot. Now I'm 9 years down the road, my kids are in college so no more child support (I help them, but not their mom), I have a better job making a lot more money, and I just got my black belt in BJJ. To top it off, I remarried a gorgeous woman in her mid 20's and really pissed off my ex. Life gets better, man. Get fit, get a hobby, and focus on becoming a better person.
