Because of Lake Charles' economy. And yes, I have family in Lake Charles.
I feel better about the stability of the economy in Lake Charles than I did in Boise, a city most people would agree has a higher quality of life than LC.
Plants and gambling are drivers of commerce. Is it the type of commerce you personally might want? No. Is there money flowing in for the foreseeable future? Yes. You get good leadership in Lake Charles and there's real potential there.
there is but it is somewhat limited by demographics too
LC has really nice areas and lots of poor not so nice.
the previous 2 posters hit on that some.
does it have potential...yes but as SFP said...demographic tipping point has prolly been reached.
northshore is better as far as quality of life but that is 100% a factor of demographics.
LC does have a good economy but it needs to continue to diversify. and it has to develop a stronger middle class.
as far as the comment about moss bluff being better....moss bluff is lake charles and when people are speaking of LC they are including that.
