Pels had a team option with Herb for this coming year at $1.8M. It's a business. You don't just "give away" a great option like that...for nothing
Pros/cons on both sides:
- Pels pay more now, likely less long term
- Herb gets guaranteed money 1 year early but risks the potential to have earned more if waiting 1 more year
