is it really as simple as just going up to people and saying hello?

Yes. Just walk up to any big tailgate and tell them your story. If you have a noticeable accent they will likely throw all the food your way. Possibly light beer as well. Dalrymple is where a lot of the main tailgating occurs. From the beginning of campus towards the Cox Academic Center, that's where the team bus will drive down. The roundabout in front of Cox is where the team busses park and the players walk down. Both sides of the road are lined up with screaming fans when the guys walk down. Make sure you try to find a spot there.

LSU/Arkansas will be a hot September game, probably pushing upper 80 degrees, maybe even low 90s (heat index at least will be in the 90s). Postgame campus options are The Chimes, Rock Paper Taco, and City Slice. I know Murphy's reopened (Irish themed bar that shutdown years ago because a student died) but I have no idea what it's like. Sounds like a college student bar mostly.

If you hit up @zrau on Twitter he will have something cooking. $10 for food and drink but he kills it.
