They started it we ended it. End of story in my opinion.
We were training the guys still in Europe to go to the pacific to fight a second war in the jungle. We would have lost so many more of our guys had we not done it. We didn’t pick the fight. It saved our guys from a horrid enemy under horrid conditions. But the only way to make them stop was to use drastic measures. An invasion would have led to every man/woman/child trying to kill our guys. Honestly both sides probably saved lives by it ending that way.

Do I like that we killed civilians? Hell no. But in an invasion it would have been much higher. When your dealing with an enemy like that who doesn’t care about death, there is no easy answer.

The bombs were not dropped on the most populous locations. The bombs saved many lives. If the Japanese did not see the incredible might of the US military, they would not have surrendered down to the very last man, woman, and child.

Hiroshima was also very important from a military perspective since it was home to the 2nd Army Headquarters, which were responsible for the defense of southern Japan. It was an important center of storage, communications, and assembly of soldiers.

Democrats live in a false reality.
