Land outside Shreveport, <$10k?

I had a chance to buy an acre with utilities in Belcher La for $5k, but someone bought it before I could. Apart from Realtor/Zillow, where might one look for rural land for sale? Most of what I've been seeing has been raw land.

Thinking about an incremental approach toward homeownership without getting one of these 7% mortgages.
Maybe buy a piece of land with cash then buy a little mobile home with cash then build a little cabin there with cash while living in the mobile home.

I'm mentally slower (therefore retired) so there isn't a strict timeline here. A large part of this equation is to have projects to work on with all this free time.
