I really think this is the answer. Pick 3 or 4 specific curriculums that you want LSU to emphasize. Hire renowned professors, amp up the facilities associated with these curriculums, give out good academic scholarships for students who want to study these curriculums, partner with employers in those fields for internships, etc. Develop a long-term plan to do this and stick with it.

Try to make LSU the go-to school in the region for a few specific curriculums. Once you get some traction there, begin doing the same thing with a few curriculums associated with those main curriculums.
