Alabama voters have been consistently bad. One Governor went to jail, another resigned ... then the anti-education, close down small businesses during Covid Gov, Kay Ivey won again... then a lobbyist (Britt) got elected to the U.S. Senate. Palmer would be a welcomed change, as would Tommy Battle as Governor.

It's not just the voters. Look what gets on the ballot. Take Britt for example. The woman was the head lobbyist for one of the biggest lobby groups in the state, connected to the chamber of commerce (hardly a friend to conservatives), whose only credentials were being Richard Shelby's protege. She practically sleepwalked into office with every big money lobbyist army at her back. The same for Tuberville, who had zero credentials outside of football other than saying "yes" whenever big money crooked a finger. You say Brooks wasn't a good Senate candidate, but he was arguably the most conservative politician in this state. He was torpedoed by PACs in his first attempt at Senate and the lobby money went so far as to run a bullshite vote splitting war hero to knock down his numbers the second time around.

We don't get to vote on quality candidates. If they don't play ball, they don't sniff the level of the Senate. If Palmer IS a good candidate, he'll get the same treatment as Brooks, regardless of how much better of a candidate he may appear to be.

So, why is it that Tennessee can get a Bill Hagerty, Kentucky a Rand Paul & Thomas Massie, Louisiana a John Kennedy, and Alabama elects a Katie Britt?
