Let me see if I can get you a list from this century:

Fun things for kids:
Surge
Chennault Military Museum
Biedenharn Museum - lots of cool Coca-cola stuff.
Black Bayou Refuge
Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo
Poverty Point
Wild Country Safari Park
Antique Alley has tons of cool shops
Duck Commander just has the building with the sign on it. Not sure they even have tours anymore.

To Eat:
Parish - this would be my recommendation for adults
Doe's Eat Place
Warehouse
Cotton
Trapps
Alex's Latin Cafe
(plenty of other places)

Edit to add:
Flying Tiger Brewery
Flying Heart Brewery
(just realized both of the brewerys are "Flying")

Agree with TigerDeacon’s list . . . I would also add that you should check the events at The Ike Hamilton Expo Center as they often have kid-friendly events and are booked just about every weekend.

I would also add Waterfront Grill to the list of places to eat.
