Curious how much government money funded this after Elon stole the governments information censorship machine. The plan to usurp twitter was always going to be there...
Government funding
Recruit celebrities and corporate brands to make the move and pay them to endorse the site
Get enough "normies" to follow the blue checks over
Brand twitter as an unregulated site for white supremacy and other extremism
Deplatform Twitter by booting it from host servers and removing it from App Stores
Viola! We've recreated old Twitter complete with all the censorship and government "misinformation" controls.

You're probably not too far off.
We have a big election next year. Now that they have their new platform, establishment media will eventually start to go all out and complain about rampant "misinformation" on Twitter, and the danger it poses to our democracy. Apple and Google will then delist it from the app stores, and then it's done. Everyone remaining on Twitter is forced to move over to Threads and play by the same set of rules that existed on Twitter before Elon took over.
The app is really just another mutation of Facebook designed to appeal to the younger <40 years of age audience that has already abandoned Facebook entirely.
