re: How do pellet grill’s compare to charcoal pits?

I have a Pit Boss Brunswick vertical, only about a year now. I live in BTR, word of caution…..the pellet hopper is HUGE. Only load with enough for your cook.

Just had an j stance where it was smoking out the back and sides, not operating correctly. I diagnosed that moist pellets were clogging auger tube and flame was back feeding to them. Kinda a fire hazard….when I emptied the hopper the next morning, there were burnt and hot pellets.

All good now but a learning experience.
