Back during the Round Rock Classic, I took my 12 year old to his first LSU baseball game. He loved it more then I expected.
After the RR classic was over I told my dad and my son that if we made the finals we were going to Omaha to see it.
I watched almost every game during the season. There were times when I was sure we were going to Omaha and there parts of the season when I thought they never had a chance to make it to the finals.
Five minutes after beating Wake, I called my Dad and reminded him my son and I were going and he was invited. It took a little convincing, but we headed out Friday morning. I meet my dad along the way and left his truck at a Indian casino in Oklahoma.
We took care of the hotel and game 1 tickets on the drive up Friday. After game two we hadn't bought game 3 tickets yet. My dad asked if we should just go home since it was such a bad game. I thought about but ended up saying Hell Naw, we are staying for game 3. We extended the hotel stay and bought game 3 tickets the morning of the game.
It was an awesome decision. I dont know how many more chances I might get to do stuff like this with my dad and my son.
It was priceless seeing both my guys celebrate the Championship together Monday night. My son should always remember the time he saw LSU win a National Championship with his grandfather.
