This is the answer. End of post. Married 15+ years. Have had great ones and dark ones. Honestly we stayed together a few years just because of our children. Few things changed, we changed. Started being open and honest and more importantly listening to each other. Now it’s better than ever we are best friends and sex has never been better. A side piece could never make either feel as we do because we know each other now to the core. Being single is easy. Cool do you. Relationships take work. Tell me anything on this earth that’s better if it’s easy.

I do think everybody simultaneously raised their standards and lowered their willingness to compromise.
