This is exactly what we wanted like 2009 and 2017

2009 Randaudo went to give us the advantage in the game. 2017 we felt get to game 3 for Lange for the advantage. Today we get Skenes… feeling good.

In 2017, Mainieri held Lange out of game 2 in the exact same situation in terms of days of rest. Lange pitched 7.1 innings on a Friday and was held out of pitching the following Tuesday. With Skenes, he threw 8 innings Thursday and the debate is him pitching against, with three days in between starts, on a Monday
I think a somewhat comparable situation is in 2021 when Marceaux threw 100+ pitches in game 1 of our regional against Gonzaga and came back on 2 days rest to close out the last 2+ inning of the regional against Oregon, throwing around 45 pitches.
Louis Coleman also threw over 100 pitches over 6+ innings against Texas in game 1 in 2009 and came back to close out the last 2 innings on 1 day of rest. He threw 3 times from 06/13-06/24

This has been what I have been saying...its very unrealistic to expect Skenes to just get the start with only 3 days rest. But I do fully expect him to go 3 innings out of the bullpen.

We took 1 of 2 against Florida's best pitching. I like our chances today

In little league I threw on only 2 days rest. 3 days isn’t unrealistic at all

Unrealistic to expect him to start the game and go longer than a few innings yes.

It will be what he wants. If he wants to start… he starts if he says bring me in when u need me, it might be too late.

I am so tired of this ignorant comment. When people in baseball refer to days rest they are talking the days they don't pitch. He didn't pitch Friday, Saturday, or Sunday thats 3 if he pitches today. You're showing your ignorance by making posts like this.
