This is true but I was bored tonight and looked up the stats. Back then you had 2 days of rest in between games even if you lost, so like we lost tonight we’d play Wednesday night instead of Tuesday then when they won that game they played Friday and not Thursday, even if we win tomorrow we turn around and play Wednesday. An extra day of rest is much easier on a pitching staff

Secondly, some combination of Poche, Lange, and Hess pitched 3 of the 5 games, didn’t have to use anybody else. The other 2 games: The loss against Oregon state when Eric Walker blew his arm out and we had to pitch Johnny whole staff and they all got rocked to the tune of 13 runs. The rubber match against oregon state Caleb Gilbert got the start and pitched the game of his life with 7 innings and only 2 hits and Hess mopped up the last 2 innings.

We would need another Caleb Gilbert like performance from somebody out the pen, and even if that happens we don’t have a Zach Hess type closer to put the lights out with an inning or 2 to go. Oh and they’ve made it even tougher on losers bracket teams by making them play every night consecutively until the championship instead of every other night.

I’ll ride with ya though. 1 game at a time baby
