That’s BS to me. Let’s have the opportunity to play every team home/away at least within 4 years instead of 12-15.

There are no solutions. Just trade offs.
If you want to play every team home and away within four years you have to shite can a lot of the traditional annual series.
If a network deal were available to justify a ten game conference schedule that would be different. But you need a significant amount of money for each school to justify that. Because each school would lose substantial home revenue.
Plus you will have more guaranteed conference losses that put the middle or lower tier schools out of bowls and potentially knock upper tier schools out of the playoff. Those are financial negatives that have to be accounted for
