re: Parents of the OT: How do you deal with child going to grandparents for the summer?

I spent two weeks every summer at my grandparents. My grandpa put my arse to work. Cutting grass, hauling dirt. He liked junk so he, my cousin and I went pick up a refrigerator in Mermentau in his 1972 Ford Courier pick up. My cousin and I had to stand in the back of the pickup and hold this heavy arse fridge while he drove back to Jennings. No straps, no nothing.

That little truck struggled and we couldn't even make it up the Mermentau River Bridge. He had to coast back down and bring the fridge back. He was pissed.
