Did you know there was an actual issue?
no, not at the time. I received a notice from the DMV that one of my vehicles went without insurance. But I know for a fact that was incorrect because we turned in the plate first and then canceled the insurance.

I called my agent and she took care of it from there

None of this happened when trying to renew a DL though, right?

Otherwise that makes sense. We got a letter from them saying the same thing...uninsured vehicle which we'd already sold. We'd waited to cancel the insurance until the day after we sold it obviously. We did not cancel the license plate as that was to be taken care of by the buyer we were told. When we got the letter we mailed the state what they said they needed, bill of sale, etc. Never heard back so we thought it was all done.

Turns out it WAS done, but nobody had bothered to remove the flag until I needed to get my DL renewed and hit a wall.
