Cost went from around 11,375 to 12,850. Insurance is paying about 11,150 after supplement. Labor only went up 2 hours. Majority of increase was parts. So actually I am paying about $1700 out of pocket but I accounted for some of that prior because I opted for OEM parts versus what insurance would pay for.

I handle all of our Body Shop Part orders and we always use OEM parts in place of Aftermarket parts as long as our cost is less than what is listed as the sale price on the estimate. We do not pass along any costs to the customer unless a used part is listed on the estimate and the customer wants new OEM. Even then we only markup 25% from cost and customer will pay the difference between the markup and what insurance will pay.

As for additional labor, we file supplement w/insurance company unless the we repair something not caused by the accident.

That's how we do things and probably why we're booking repair jobs 5 weeks out. We are slammed.
