Bus service is like Zion? You can drive king/Sequioa?
You can drive most of it but to see Moro Rock and the tree that fell over and you can walk through you need to walk(far)/bike/or take a shuttle bus. You want to see this part of the park. General Sherman is the other area but you park and walk it.
Sierras had an incredible winter, check roads to see what is open when you go if this trip is before mid july.

big oak flat entrance 2hr 15 minutes drive.
Staying at the oak hurst lodge for Yosemite. It’s in oakhurst. 30minute drive to South Gate.
You are going to miss the Tioga area sounds like. Be ready to get to the park early or wait in line.
We went in 2021 and waited 2 hours at the south gate in August after arriving at 8am. They were doing reservations then also.

Joshua Tree worth the drive? Might not ever have another chance.
I think so. When else are you going to back in that area?
