In 1970 watching LSU chase senior Archie Manning
around the field with a broken arm as it rained oranges in celebration for the Orange Bowl was
my first and most memorable. Manning had never lost to LSU. Three punt returns for touchdown, 2 by Craig Burns and 1 by Tommy Casanova, were epic. It even eclipsed the 1 second pass 2 years later. That game sucked until the last second.

At Ole Miss in 2003. Beat them at their house to win the West and keep national championship alive.

1988. Student section waves $20 bills at Billy Cannon as he is introduced to the crowd before the game. I thought it was a little soon to be bringing him back...he had only been out of the slammer for about 2 years at this point.

+1

don't let the pissers see you say "when the west" though, they're very proud of being co-champions (and the banner proves it)

That's an easy one. It was Nov 11, 1972, during my freshman year, when Bert Jones led the Tigers to a game winning TD as time expired.

wow, the only heisman in our history, who was the best player on our, at that time, only national championship team... and thats how the student section welcomed him back??
I could have went my whole life without knowing that. This is the same student section who chanted "F U Saban" after he beat us. They should be yelling "thank you saban "for building us back to a power house.

I know Dr. Cannon very well and he is a good man. Just think if everyone knew your worst act in life, then the fans who should love you, kick you in the heart. Sometimes there is no doubt how we get our bad rep.
This post really makes me sick

I'm sure he is a great guy...but he tarnished himself and the university by knowingly committing a serious crime. Introducing him at a football game at such a short time after getting out of jail kinda invited that reaction, I think.

1972 as an 12 year old kid. Got Billy Cannons autograph at half time and I was standing on the sidelines as Bert threw to Brad Davis and the fans went crazy.

Close second for me would be 2006 in Baton Rouge. The comeback in the 4th quarter. Normally wouldn't stand out to most, but I was a freshman at Ole Miss and brought at least a dozen friends (Ole Miss fans) down to Baton Rouge. Had Ole Miss won that game I would still be hearing shite. THANK YOU JAMARCUS AND COACH O!
