Not IMPOSSIBLE to build a winner under those circumstances but having blown their load to get Durant limits their options of how to pull it off.

Curious how they work around the new CBA rules. It'll be interesting to see, that's for sure. I have to imagine they will shop Paul and try to improve their depth in the process.

My understanding is that these penalties will not take place until you hit the 2nd apron over the tax, so $17 million over the luxury tax threshold. You can still pay the tax and use the taxpayer MLE, etc. the suns can operate in this space with marginal cost cutting from this year
This CBA change does likely preclude the Suns from spending Warriors and Clippers type of payroll, which they potentially could have done.
