This will take time, more pain, and another appointment. If it can be saved, he'll do root canal. Went through the exact same type of thing about 10 years ago, got the dentist to come in on a Sunday morning. After the same sort of thing I need to send you to X then X etc I literally begged him to pull it I would just get an implant, I hadn't been able to sleep since Thursday night. Then the roots were too deep for him to do it. So off to the oral surgeon Monday morning and back on Tuesday for the procedure. None of the pain meds they gave me even touched the pain. As soon as I woke up all was well with the world. It may have been the happiest moment of my life.
