Coaching absolutes

Either Miles is a good coach or he's not. I'm getting really tired of some of this crap. There are really people who think Miles would have been fired had he lost to Troy (and some who still think he should be). The guy won the BCS title less than one year ago.
Mile is an excellent coach that has been through a lot of personnel and staff changes since last year. I personally think we are a QB away from playing for the SEC title. That doesn't scream "team in disarray" to me.

That Hat can coach some football, and all the nega-Milesers will be saying that exact same thing as soon as the Cotton Bowl this year, but definitely by the end of next year. Then the following year when things aren't so great - they'll want to fire him again.

Either Miles is a good coach or he's not.
Crowton as OC has also made some very bad mistakes this year putting a freshman QB into some very bad situations, instead of playing into the teams strengths. Overall Crowton is good but he's laid a few eggs this year.
Once Les Miles loses the positive aspects of having very good OC's and DC's, he becomes a very average coach, and that's the result that we have here today.

No what we have here today is a bunch of e-dweebs like yourself, that can't & don't want to stop sucking on Saban's teet.

Miles is not a great coach. He is a mediocre coach. He use to be a great manager, getting great coaches around him. He did not do a great job this season in that aspect.

Please explain why his Defense was ranked #75 in Total Defense in 2001 with that roster. Why he lost to UAB. Why in 5 years he had 2 double win digit seasons.

I think you just described every coach in America. Are you saying that Saban can win with poor coordinators? That's ridiculous. I'm just glad Miles has iron-clad job security so he can do what he feels is best for the program, not not to appease the knee-jerk whims of some internet heroes.

Yea, but last year he was GOD. He had balls of steel. He loses 3 games to teams ranked in the top 10 and now he is a mediocre coach? Can we please just get real fans to support our team, whether we win or lose, instead of these bandwagon fans who jump off the wagon whenever anything goes wrong.

because he and Miles obviously inherited a program in the same exact state, right TigerTap?

Miles is average.
Anyone thinking he is a great coach doesnt know jack about football.

Let's lay it out there then. Who are the "great" coaches?

What do you know about football that we don't? There are only a few ways to measure success: wins & losses, championships, recruiting rankings. So far, Miles has LSU at a level greater than any LSU coach in history, and as good or better than any coach in the country. Is there some secret measurement you know about that I don't?

I like Miles as a head coach, I think he made a bad decision promoting those guys to Co DC.
Secondary, Special Teams, and Linebackers. No surprise that the Current DC's coached those personnel. I think he made a bad choice, but who knows, he might have offered someone outside the program and they turned him down.

The good thing about Saban is he has no loyalties to asst. coaches. If they don't do a good job its off with their heads. Results are what matters no excuses.
