A couple years out of high school I worked an assembly job putting together big computer servers. The memory and other expensive shite stayed locked up in a parts room and had to be signed for. They got shipments in three or four times a week. Stuff started coming up missing. Not a lot from any particular delivery, but enough. We're talking thousands of dollars in a box that can fit in a lunchbox.
Anyway, turns out that the night security guard and another guy were in cahoots. The security guard would help with cameras and such and the other guy would take the stuff out. This went on for about six months before they were caught, and they moved a bunch of stuff.
How did they get caught? Well, the other guy was the one responsible for selling the stolen goods. He sold it on Ebay. His address was attached to that account. To top it off, all items were sold in their original boxes with the company's logo on them. That company had their own branded components. All the investigators had to do was watch the guy's Ebay site and bid/buy. They bought three times before they shut it down. He shipped from a PO Box that had his mother's name on it.
