Yes, he's legit. Never got the respect he was due, probably because he wasn't all flash like other guitarists of the era and he was overshadowed by another guitarist in his first band. But he can flat out play. He's in the Steve Lukather camp for me; all the chops in the world, but never lets it get in the way of the song.
