That's what you get when you have a last minute rewrite for the closing scene. T-Rex wasn't originally in the final scene, but they were so proud of the job the effects guys did on T-Rex (rightly so) that they wanted to get him on screen one more time.

I mean that’s actually kind of awesome and makes me care even less that it didn’t make sense.
