Yep! Egos kill people. I took flying classes when I was in college and after my first and only solo I realized the “Pilot” is a full time job not a hobby!

YEP. It is a full time job & I won't fly w/ a part time private pilot.

No. That’s just not true. I fly about 120 hours per year. I’m instrument rated, and I fly through all kinds of weather. If I go three weeks without flying I will be extra careful and deliberate, and that’s the key to safe flying - understanding that risk factors multiply. If you are rusty, tired, feeling less than 100%, flying into an unfamiliar airport or at night you have to account for it. And if you start facing two or more of those you need to be willing to pull the plug on the trip. But you don’t need to be a professional full time pilot to be safe.
My plane is in annual right now. When I pick it up next week it will have been six weeks since I’ve flown. In that circumstance, I will not fly unless there is at least a 1,000 feet ceiling and no other complications.
