Exactly. IMO the whole point was that Dave and his crew were shite talking this family and making fun of them, and in the end they were just normal people with heavy religious values and ended up comforting Dave and crew in their time of need (well, safe to say the grandma is definitely weird ).

But in the end Dave is the a-hole because those people weren’t racist really at all (hard to tell if the brother actually was or not) and even the daughter was happy with her life and didn’t need to be saved by Dave.

It seems like this season is kinda about Dave learning about himself, and sort of realizing he’s an a-hole as someone said.
