I was an '80s metalhead so most of the synth stuff was a distant second for me.

I was too, although I would be more accurately described as a "hair-metalhead", because my bands were Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Dokken, Van Halen, Ratt, Poison, Cinderella, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Scorpions, Dio, Ozzy; etc. Hell, I even had Slaughter and Winger cassettes.
Man, the 80's were so great. I'm sure much of it's nostalgia. I was in 2nd grade during the spring of 80, and the fall of 89 was my Senior year, so I grew up 80's. I liked all the music from New Wave/Second British Invasion to Pop to Hair Metal to Heavy Metal. In the 80's I might listen to Slayer, Anthrax, or Megadeth one minute, then Culture Club, Duran Duran, Wham, or Tears For Fears, the next, then Whitney Houston, Madonna, or Belinda Carlisle, followed by Whitesnake, Ratt, and Winger and it all be cool.
