Buster was inspired to win the fight in honor of his mother.
She was only 46 when she died from complications of a stroke weeks prior to the fight.
Buster, motivated, in the best shape of his life, was a HUGE 42:1 underdog.
After a 10th round KO win over Tyson, Buster would face Evander Holyfield six months later.
Buster came in to the title bout overweight, out of shape.
Holyfield knocked him out in the 3rd round.

Yup. I heard someone on the radio telling to story about the weigh in which was open to public. After Buster stripped down to his skivvies and his weight was announced, there was a mad rush from the weigh in to the Sportsbook to bet on Holyfield before the odds changed

He was as good as any Heavyweight fighter of the 90's that night.Athletic, focused and didn't back down.
He had the pedigree (Dad was middleweight champion) and the athleticism to be a great fighter but not the heart and motivation after that night.
