painful level of nostalgia i have for the Dome is only surpassed by the painful level of nostalgia i have for Astroworld.

Only went once, for two hours. Six Flags in Arlington was better imo.

Went to the dome a bunch though. Saw a baseball game one afternoon and a preseason football game that night once... That was awesome.

i've never been to Six Flags over Texas. objectively, i suspect you're probably right that it's "better"...i'm sure it was certainly cleaner and a hell of a lot less ghetto.

but for us houston kids from the 80s and 90s man...Astroworld was just so damn fun. the ghetto-ness of it sort of added to the fun, because it wasnt "dangerous" ghetto-ness like it probably would be now. and there were some absolutely amazing rides there too, many which were groundbreaking at the time.

greezed lightnin
sky screamer
looping starship
texas cyclone

sigh...I hate that my kids wont get to experience it.
